The first try is always the hardest. Today was my first time drawing the human body from life. It was much more difficult to get the shapes right and also fit in the time limit for each drawing. I hope to see an improvement in the end of this term.

Second session

The second session was easier than the first one as I started to catch up with time management in my life drawing. I also enjoyed it more because drawing with white chalk on black paper, which I love doing. I think chalk poses came out better than those drawn with charcoal. Still need some improvement.

Third session

After a short presentation about the golden ratio, we headed to the studio, where we had to create a comic page while doing life drawing. I tried to keep all the panes in the right place. I aimed to get one picture of each high, low, mid angle and close up. I meet all these requirements and added more emotions to my work through drawing dramatic facial expressions.

When I first heard that our model will wear a Victorian cosplay, I expected the costume to be a dress or at least a skirt. I was surprised when to discover that it's a steampunk cosplay. Drawing various outfits and decorations gave me a boost of inspiration for the next project. I liked the different poses with props like a sword. It gave me a lot of experience in drawing various poses with weapons. Lastly, I can see a lot of improvement in body shape and proportion since the first session.
