Halloween comic and poster

Given prompt : 'Dracula in a house of mirrors'

For my Halloween Comic, my task was to create a one-page comic about Dracula in a house of mirrors.

My first step towards creating a story was designing the main character. I took the quote from a novel called Dracula by Bram Stoker, which described the vampire as "tall old man, clean-shaven, save for a long white moustache and clad in black from head to foot, without a single speck of colour about him anywhere". I used black Indian ink, fine liners and white pen to create black and white characters to express the way the character was dressed 'clad in black from head to foot'.

Inspired by some of the locations from life drawing lessons around Stoke, I created backgrounds such as the house of mirrors based on a gothic-styled building next to Stoke Minster.

I used the knowledge from traditional inking lessons and used the technique of drawing into black ink painted surfaces with white markers and pens.

I like how drawing with white markers onto black ink marks. I think some of the backgrounds didn't come out as I imagined it. I could have drawn the gothic building from the perspective of an ant. The room of the mirrors could look better if it had reflections in the mirrors.

Poster

To create a poster for the Halloween Anthology, I used a picture made with a RISO printer. The idea was to edit the picture in photoshop, but unfortunately, photoshop refused to work for me this day. Instead, I used a free outdated software called GIMP, which at first looked like a good solution. I managed to copy the pumpkin and play with a colour filter to create green and orange pumpkins. However, I didn't know how to use GIMP, so in the end my poster turned out to be a big pixelated fail.
If I had more time and access to Photoshop, I would redo the whole piece. An alternative solution could be drawing into riso print with some traditional media. Unfortunately, time restraints perverted me from doing it as I spent too much of my time working on the comic and leaving little time to work on the poster.
